Savor award-winning Volcanic Hills wines, each crafted with grapes from New Zealand’s premier wine regions. Sip, relax, and soak in breathtaking views of Lake Rotorua, a pairing as unforgettable as the wines themselves.
Wine Tasting
Relax with a glass of wine, something to eat, and soak up the view. The tasting room is set up so you can pop in and experience the wines, as well as take a few bottles home if you like. During the tasting, Volcanic Hills staff will have a chat about the tasting with you, as they understand that everyone’s relationship with wine is different.
Taste all five Volcanic Hills wines (30-45 mins).
The Volcanic Hills range includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Blanc de Blanc, Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Rosé. The grapes are sourced from New Zealand’s premium wine-growing regions of Marlborough, Central Otago, and Hawkes Bay, and crafted onsite in the Winery at the base of Skyline Rotorua.
" Volcanic Hills is absolutely the gem of Skyline Rotorua. I went up on the gondola, had breakfast at Stratosfare, did a couple of luge rides but Volcanic Hills was my standout. About Volcanic Hills
After years of working for one of New Zealand’s most prominent wine brands as well as numerous overseas vintages in Australia, the United States of America, France, and South Africa, it was time to develop our own iconic range.
The Volcanic Hills brand was launched in 2009, with the Tasting Room opened at Skyline Rotorua in 2012, and the Winery in time for the 2013 winemaking vintage.
