Skyline Rotorua Quick Facts

Opened in 1985.
Ride an eight-seater Gondola up Mount Ngongotaha with unsurpassed views of Rotorua and its surroundings.
The Gondola is on a 900-metre long Doppelmayr cableway system.

The world-famous Luge opened in 1985 and is one of Rotorua’s most popular attractions.
Part go-cart, part toboggan, ride the Rotorua Luge through a beautiful forest on one of three exciting trails.
There are 5 Luge tracks to explore. Tiki Tour, Gravity, Legend, Ultra and Twister
Over 7.3km of Luge tracks on Mt Ngongotaha through Redwood forest and with views of Lake Rotorua
The three-wheeled Luge carts are gravity fueled and the rider has full control over speed and direction using a unique braking and steering system. Pull back on the bars to stop, push forward to go and enjoy the ride.
Ideal for any age and small children can ride with adults.
Scenic chairlift rides back to the top of the trail.
Skyline Rotorua continues to lead the Luge technology – all components are designed and manufactured in Rotorua and then shipped around the world to other Luge locations.
The Luge is also in Queenstown, New Zealand; Mont Tremblant and Calgary, Canada; Sentosa, Singapore, Busan and Tongyeong, Korea.

Hanging from your harness, pull the release to make the drop at up to 150kph.

Host location of the world’s largest mountain biking event, Crankworx Rotorua, with custom-built Downhill, Dual Speed and Style, Slopestyle and Pump Track courses for the world’s best riders.
Skyline has 11 dedicated Gondolas that can each take four riders and their bikes to where the trails start, taking the hard work out the park’s 200-metre vertical rise.

The mountain bike Park has full-time patrollers, all trained to pre-hospital first aid levels.

$2 million renovation project finished in November 2014.
