Important MTB Announcement

Mountain Biking at Skyline Rotorua

After careful consideration, we have decided that Skyline Rotorua’s mountain biking operations will conclude next year, on 25 March 2027.

We’ve been part of the Rotorua MTB community since 2014. From the early days of the trails to the growth of a riding destination that attracted visitors from around the world, it’s something we’re genuinely proud of. The riders, community groups, and the regulars who have made this place part of their routine has meant a lot to us.

As we look at the next chapter for our site, we’ve made a deliberate choice to focus on new and innovative visitor experiences. Keeping Skyline Rotorua’s broad appeal relevant, and world-class is something we strive for – the recently completed rebuild of our Luge tracks is one sign of that commitment, and there is more to come.

Key features of the MTB park, including the Pump, Slopestyle and Dual Slalom tracks, will remain part of the landscape in the immediate future, leaving the door open for possible events in the future. We will share more as plans develop.

If you hold an MTB pass, please see our pass holder information below, or contact us directly at [email protected]

Thank you for being part of our MTB community and hope you’ll continue to be part of what comes next.

The trails will be closed but some features of the MTB park, including the Pump, Slopestyle and Dual Slalom tracks, will remain part of the landscape in the immediate future, leaving the door open for future events. We will share more as plans develop.

No. The mountain bike uplifts at our site in Queenstown will continue as usual and are in no way impacted. The decision to stop daily MTB operations in Rotorua allows us to focus on new and innovative experiences on-site that will make way for some exciting development ahead.
